Design, Construction and Characterization of Sealed Tube Medium Power CO2 Laser System

A low-cost medium-power carbon dioxide (CO2) laser system is designed, constructed, and characterized to produce coherent, monochromatic radiation in the infrared region. The cavity simulated designed by using ZEMAX optic studio. switch-mode high-tension pump source constructed a flyback transformer NI Multisim study voltage behavior at different node points. prototype cooling system/chiller built thermo-electric coolers (TEC) remove excess heat produced during action. Various parameters, such as pumping mechanism, chiller stability, efficiency, output power, current applied voltages, are studied. efficiency powers of analyzed, which clearly shows that chiller’s rate good enough compensate for generated system. center wavelength 10.6 μm with an FWHM 1.2 nm beam penetration through salt rock (NaCl), wood, acrylic sheet (PMMA) various analyzed measure depth CO2 laser.
